Volunteering with us
Mearns Kirk Helping Hands depends on our team of wonderful volunteers to carry out all the groups and activities we provide.
Our group leaders, treasurers, secretaries, helpers, cooks, bakers and drivers are all volunteers. They contribute their time, skills and experience to make sure that our groups and activities are welcoming, caring, safe and well organised.

Benefits and Experience
We strive to give all our volunteers a quality experience when they join the team at Mearns Kirk Helping Hands. We provide a welcome handbook, induction meetings, quality training, regular meetings and opportunities to socialise.
How to Apply
If you have time to spare, a positive and caring nature and enjoy feeling part of a team, we will find a role for you.
Get in touch; we’d love to welcome you to the team! You can email hello@mkhelpinghands.org.uk phone 07858 552 767 or use the Contact Us form on this site. If you prefer, you can download an Application Form and post or email it to us.
When we receive your application or enquiry form we’ll invite you in for an informal chat (usually within a week of receiving your enquiry). Don’t worry, it’s not an interview; it’s an opportunity to find out if we are a good “fit” for you!
Some of our roles require a Disclose Check, but we’ll let you know about this when you contact us. All our roles require two references; these can come from a range of people and don’t necessarily need to be previous employers. Again, we will give you more information when we receive your enquiry.
