Our application process

We have lots of different opportunities for you to get involved with at Mearns Kirk Helping Hands. The application process differs slightly, depending on the role.

The first step, whether you know what role you’re interested in or, you’d just like to find out more, is to get in touch and arrange a chat with one of our team before you apply. This way we can get to know you a bit better, have a coffee and a chat and consider what role would suit best.

Who we're looking for

If you are 18 or over, have time to spare and want to make a real difference for older people in our community, get in touch.  Most of our opportunities take place during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9 to 5), although we have opportunities to help with fundraising events during evenings and weekends.

Please note

Some of our volunteer roles require  membership of the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) to help us ensure the wellbeing of the people we support.  As part of our initial chat with you we will let you know if a role you are interested in requires membership.  There is no charge for this for volunteer roles.
